The brief
On a busier day, Checkout sends 60 payments a second to its outside payment provider. From second 10 to second 30 the provider has a partial outage: it fails nine calls in ten and runs on half its servers. In this sim, hammered at full rate it falls over and stays down. Keep it alive through the incident so payments flow again afterwards. Calls during the incident still fail — but fast, so the shop can show an honest "try again".
